The path of living your life forces changes on a person. You may not like these changes but they happen anyway.

Just this week some of these changes have been "forced" on me.
I've had hypertension for quite a few years now but some new maladies have been added to that one.
I have high cholesterol and elevated blood sugar also. At this time the doc's remedy is to put me on cholesterol meds to go with the hypertension meds and to exercise and change my diet.

Yes, I am overweight and in my 40's. It seems like that spread hits us in the 40's but I have been prone to being a little overweight all my life. You see, I am a stress eater and I like to eat chips mostly for my go to foods.

Now I am having to force a diet change on myself. The only meat I am allowed is chicken basically so I will become a vegetarian with only small amounts of meat allowed. (If I understand vegetarian correctly.) My next trip to the grocery store will be for lettuce, tomato, fruits, cucumbers etc. There is a limited amount that I like so it will be a challenge.

I will also be including a trip to the gym at least 3 times a week even if my husband does protest about the gas.
Another plan is to start the Zumba for WII program.

I am not a completely sedentary person. I am on the go a lot but nothing I do has the effect that straight exercise does.

That ends this first post. May not be another one till next week as this is an extremely busy weekend for me.
